Home / Online Shop / Riley – original vintage 1960s Colmore Depot keyring – collector’s item
NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
An original Riley keyring which will have been produced in the 1960s .
When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .
Colmore Depot had a couple of showrooms in Birmingham in the 1960s and one in Worcester .
They were dealers for MG & Riley but did sell other makes as well – Morris & Wolseley – also Ariel motorcycles .
This Riley keyring is a very scarce original vintage item dating from the 1960s- the only one of this design which we have ever seen although we have seen a couple of other examples but in different designs.
This keyring is in excellent condition – probably new old stock.
The badge is in vitreous enamel on chrome plate and is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine tan leather.
The badge was made by Gale Melville Ltd badgemakers of Surbiton in Surrey UK – well known badgemakers at that time.
The keyfob has Colmore Depot’s details embossed on the back in gold foil- this one from the dealership in Station Street, Birmingham.
Interestingly the keyfob incorporates a pouch behind the badge which could be used for storing a coin – probably for use in a telephone box rather than a parking meter at that time.
These keyrings would have been supplied with vehicles sold from the depots and very few of these keyrings will have survived- this particular one having some historical significance for Riley .
If it is known that your vehicle was originally bought from Colmore Depot – then this keyring will be the final cherry on the cake !
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold then this listing will cancel. SMOSO 00/55 06/21
If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason or cancel your order – a full refund will be given.
