3 in stock

Original Scammell tan pigskin leather keyrings which will have been produced in the late 1960s or very early 1970s.

We have 3 of these lovely items to offer – when all 3 have been sold this listing will be cancelled .

These keyrings are some of the most beautiful quality keyrings which were ever produced for cars & lorries – in our opinion they are in the same class as the lovely Schedoni Italian made keyrings – but they were produced for use with Ferrari cars !!

Even if you do not own or drive a Scammell lorry ( quite likely ! ) – one of these keyrings should be in any serious keyring collection as a shining example of just how good English keyring manufacturing rose to in the 1960s & 1970s .

We have previously only ever listed one example of one of these keyrings here for sale in our website shop – it was in used condition and sold some time ago .

Now we have received three keyrings all together and in new old stock condition – these keyrings have never been used .

Very few of those that were used will have survived the rigours of life on the road in a commercial vehicle .

These keyrings are some of the most original & iconic vehicle keyrings which were ever made – and show the affection which these lorries were held in by transport companies and drivers alike .

The keyrings are beautifully made with a nickel plated badge with jewellery quality vitreous enamel detail in the shape of a Scammell lorry ‘radiator’ badge mounted onto a keyring in genuine tan pigskin leather .

The back of the keyfobs is gold embossed with the legend :-  ‘ IF YOU’VE GOT A LOAD TO MOVE GET A SCAMMELL ‘

Pigskin was ( and is ) a very expensive material and was usually reserved for Jaguar & Aston Martin car keyrings – not usually for lorries !

Using such an upmarket material for these keyrings shows the pride which owners and drivers of these vehicles had all those years ago ( and still do have  )

The vehicles which Scammell produced are so well known that they need no description here – sadly Scammell closed in the late 1980s.
