Standard – original new old stock late 1950s/ early 1960s SCHALL keyring – collector’s item

An original Standard keyring which will have been produced in the late 1950s or very early 1960s .

We have just this one keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This keyring is in new old stock condition and is a very rare item – so far as we can remember it is the only Standard SCHALL keyring which we have ever listed .

The nickel plated badge mounted onto the keyring has been enamelled in coach enamel ( not the usual vitreous enamel more common at the time )

This coach enamel will have been individually hand applied with an enameller’s brush .

The badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine Navy blue leather .

Made in England by SCHALL ( SC HALL ) who probably didn’t make many of these keyrings for Standard cars at the time .

In that case it could probably have not been worthwhile setting up to produce a run of vitreous enamel badges and the badges were simply enamelled by hand instead .

SCHALL’s  keyrings were very distinctive and often with a coach enamel badge and in this peardrop shape with a circular cut-out in the leather beneath the badge with a card insert presumably for inscribing the registration no. of the car .
