Standard - original vintage late 1950s distributor keyring by Caxton of Kew

A superb original Standard distributor keyring .

Dating from the late 1950s – the keyring is in excellent condition and could be new old stock apart from some additional stitching which has been added at the top of the keyfob ( not by us !)

The vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a genuine green leather keyfob which we would think is goatskin – this was sometimes used for keyfobs at the time and is recognised by it’s pebbly grain.

Made by Caxtons of Kew – who have sadly been closed for many years.

Made by Caxtons for the Glasgow distributor and would have been supplied with a new Standard motor car at the time.

A delightful little piece of motoring history and a rare survivor of an almost forgotten age when new cars came with ‘proper’ keyrings which had been made with pride.
