An original Toyota key wallet dating from the 1970s .

This key wallet is new old stock and is in excellent condition apart from a few slight storage marks.

The vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a genuine leather wallet which is embossed ‘Genuine Leather – Made in England’

The badge has some dark staining beneath the enamel – this will have been there since the badge was made – these early enamel badges had hand laid enamel and were not as consistent as those made nowadays.

The wallet opens with a press stud to reveal 4 sprung steel hooks for securing keys.

Key wallets were popular items in the 1970s and were made for many makes of car – very few will have survived .

No well equipped Toyota driver would have been seen without one of these at the time !

A perfect addition for that period car which has everything – or actually could be used in a much later car as a ‘retro’ item.

We have just this one example to offer ( the only one which we have ever seen with a red enamel badge ) which was made by the very well known Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham who also made keyrings for cars.

In the 1960s & 1970s almost all keyrings etc for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry.
