Triumph leather gear knob

NOW SOLD – sorry this gear knob has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

This gearknob is in genuine smooth black leather and will be an aftermarket item probably 30 or 40 years old .

Gearknobs like this one were in common use in UK at that time as replacement gearknobs for the rather utility plastic knobs in use in many cars at the time .

This gearknob has been used as can be seen in the photos but is in excellent condition .

This gearknob actually has a Morgan wings badge inserted but I can remove that and replace it with the vitreous enamel Triumph badge shown .

Sorry – but I have never seen or listed a round Triumph TR8 enamel badge on a keyring although I believe some were produced at the time .

The Triumph badge shown is the best option which I have and is exactly the right size for replacing the Morgan badge .

Gearknob dimensions – Almost 2″ ( 49mm ) tall

Width at top 1.5″ ( 38mm )

Width at base 1.0″ ( 26mm)

Diameter of badge 1.0″ (26mm)

Internal thread – approx 3/8″ (10mm)

The internal thread insert is in hard nylon material and will conform to most threads on top of gear sticks.

It would be a relatively easy operation to drill it oversize if need be or to wrap the gear stick thread with a suitable tape like plumber’s PTFE tape to accomodate a slightly thinner gear stick .

Price for the leatherknob complete with Triumph badge would be £85 which includes for the extra shipping cost over the standard international shipping charge  £12.95 which the website shop charges.

Alternatively I could remove the Morgan badge and inlay a matching circle of black leather or a circle of leather in another colour to match the car . SMOSO  00/58   09/24
