Original Vintage & Restored Leather Keyrings for Classic Cars & Motorcycles

Triumph motorcycle – original late 1950s Sculthorp vitreous enamel badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original vintage Triumph motorcycle keyfob badge which will have been produced in the late 1950s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

When this keyring with this badge has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring has an original Triumph motorcycle keyfob badge dating from the late 1950s.

Made by Sculthorps of London who produced motorcycle keyrings in the mid to late 1950s .

By the early 1960s they seem to have disappeared – possibly taken over by Melsom Products of Birmingham who then produced many of Sculthorp’s badge designs like this one.

This is a very rare badge and is actually the only Sculthorp Triumph motorcycle badge which we have ever listed- it is a relatively small badge .

The later Melsom version of this badge was slightly larger.

This deep cobalt blue vitreous enamel badge is in good condition for it’s age – most importantly the enamel is complete with no chips whatsover .

The surface of the enamel does have some scratches which are almost inevitable on a badge which has been used on an open motorcycle.

Keyrings with these badges were used on open motorcycles in all weathers and very few keyrings or badges have survived intact over the last 50 or 60 years.

Keyfob badges like this one were known as ‘drop’ badges ( like a drop of water ) and are the keyfob badges which we all associate with classic Triumph motorcycles.

It is very rare that we are able to offer a Triumph motorcycle keyfob badge which can be conclusively dated to the late 1950s and is original & correct for use with a 1950s Triumph motorcycle.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive. SMOSO   00/56    04/22
