Triumph motorcycle – original late 1960s CUD vinyl insert badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original vintage Triumph motorcycle keyfob badge which will have been produced in the late 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

When this keyring with this badge has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring has an original Triumph motorcycle keyfob badge dating from the late 1960s.

Made by Castles Unit Development Co. of Leicester ( the famous CUD Company who produced torpedo keyrings in the 1950s & 1960s )

This vinyl insert badge is in good condition for it’s age and is easy to date as CUD went over from vitreous enamel badges to vinyl insert badges like this one in the late 1960s just before they closed.

This is a very rare badge and only the 2nd one which we have ever listed over the last 10 years.

The badge comprises a thin vinyl insert within a plated metal mount – these vinyl badges have survived remarkably well and do have the advantage over vitreous enamel badges that they do not chip when dropped onto a hard concrete floor !

Some very slight surface scratches on the surface of the vinyl ( you have to tilt the badge from side to side in a light source to see them ) and the nickel plating has rubbed through to the base metal in places on the edge of the badge.

Keyrings with these badges were used on open motorcycles in all weathers and very few keyrings or badges have survived intact over the last 50 years.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.  SMOSO   00/56   11/21
