We have just this one example of this ultra-rare keyring which is the only one which we have ever seen over the last 10 years.
The keyring is in superb condition having been in store for over 50 years – it dates from the late 1950s or very early 1960s.
We have never seen an example of this design before for Velocette.
The black vitreous enamel on gilt badge is bonded to the chrome backplate which is in turn attached to the keyfob itself which is in a leather effect vinyl material.
Having been protected from the ultra violet rays of sunlight for all those years – the vinyl is still as fresh & pliable as the day it was made.
Vinyl was commonly used rather than leather for motor cycle & scooter keyfobs on the grounds that it is waterproof.
A soaking wet leather keyfob can become rather soggy !
Britain was just emerging from an age of austerity after WWII when this keyring was produced. White vinyl was selected rather than ‘boring’ black as white was the cool colour of the day !
If your Velocette motor cycle is one of the best ( and most that we have seen fit that category ! ) – then it deserves one of these keyrings.
When this keyring has been sold it is most unlikely that we will ever find another one of these time warp items.
When it has been sold this listing will cancel.
