An original Volkswagen torpedo keyring which will date from the early 1970s.
The keyring is in worn condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a genuine leather torpedo keyfob.
The vitreous enamel badge has some chips in the enamel and the nickel plating has many micro dings and surface scratches .
The badge was made by GP of Cromwell Road London- not a manufacturer who we have come across before .
The torpedo keyfob is still in serviceable condition but has become very worn & wrinkled with use .
If your idea of a keyring is mint perfection – then this one is certainly not for you .
However many of our customers much prefer a keyring which has ‘had a life’ – and this one certainly qualifies in that regard !
Torpedo keyfobs were very much a 1960s design and by the early 1970s most keyrings were being produced along the teardrop lines still in use until recently ( and still made by us of course !)
This will be one of the very last torpedo keyrings made.
Original & correct for use with any Volkswagen motor car of the period.
We are also listing a very similar VW torpedo keyring but in better condition in a separate listing – unless now sold .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
