Original Vintage & Restored Leather Keyrings for Classic Cars & Motorcycles

Austin Healey 100 & 3000 - original early 1960s vitreous enamel wings badge with some plating missing remounted onto a new leather keyfob

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original Austin Healey vitreous enamel ‘wings’ keyfob badge which will have been produced in the early 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

We have just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled

A very rare keyfob badge .

So far as we are aware just one specific keyring was originally produced for Austin Healey 100 ( we have listed just 2 original examples of these over the years )

The only specific keyring originally produced for Austin Healey 3000 which we have ever listed was just one 1960s example which could have been a specially produced bespoke item .

The keyfob badge in this listing is an example of what was actually used mounted onto keyfobs in the cars at the time – very few of these have survived intact .

Over the years we have listed just 4 or 5  of these original vitreous enamel green winged badges which we have remounted onto new leather keyfobs .

This vitreous enamel keyfob badge dates from the early 1960s and is in translucent green enamel .

The badge is in good condition with no enamel chips whatsover ( which is most unusual ! )

There is some loss of nickel plating on the wings motif which can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos .

Even with the loss of plating this badge is valuable and well worth remounting – so few of these badges have survived .

This badge will have travelled very many thousands of miles over the years ( in an Austin Healey 100 or 3000 ) but sadly the original leather keyfob will have eventually given up the ghost leaving the badge to be chucked in the back of a drawer no longer used until it came to us for remounting .

These badges would usually have ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ stamped on the back – this one hasn’t – there is a depression on the badge reverse where this would usually be .

The badge was probably made by one of the smaller badgemakers who were operating in Birmingham at the time – there were many of them in the 1960s .

This badge is original & correct for use with 1950s Austin Healey 100 & 100/6 together with Austin Healey 3000 MkI & Mk II .

It could also be used with early 1964 3000 Mk III .

Please note that this badge design has been reproduced over recent years and offered for sale on internet sites usually in modern resin based enamel and mounted onto a keyfob in imitation leather .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive. SMOSO   00/59   08/22
