MG ( MGB ) – original vintage late 1960s/ early 1970s melsom products ltd keyring – collector’s item

The keyring in this listing is an original MG keyring which will have been produced around 50 years ago.

This keyring is an original item dating from the late 1960s or early 1970s and is in excellent condition –

Keyrings exactly like this one will have sold in their thousands and will have been used in MG sports cars at the time – almost all by now will have been lost or discarded when they wore out or the owner changed their car for another make of car .

This is a completely original keyring and just as would have been used in thousands of cars ( especially MGBs ) at the time – a rare survivor which would be the final cherry on the cake if used in a perfectly restored original car .

The vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine tan leather .

Made by Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham who were the main manufacturer of quality leather car keyrings at that time .

At that time almost all car keyrings were made in England – it was quite an industry .

Melsom’s mark is on the reverse of the badge and their ‘keyflix’ trademark can be seen faintly embossed into the leather beneath the badge – not visible in the listing photo but can be readily seen as the keyfob is tilted from side to side in a light source .

This keyring will be original & correct for use with any 1960s or 1970s MG motor car – and will have been produced with MGB & Midget in mind .
