Porsche – original vintage new old stock 1980s? London dealership keyring – collector’s item

On hold for a regular customer £275

An original Porsche UK London dealership keyring which we would think will have been issued in the 1980s .

We have just this one keyring to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

We have very recently listed and sold a similar keyring for the same dealership but it had been necessary to re-stitch the keyfob with new linen thread and the embossed details were very worn .

Apart from that keyring this is the only example of one of these keyrings for this Porsche dealership which we have ever listed .

This original new old stock keyring in absolutely mint condition – how many more like this one can still be around in this condition after after around 40 years – very few if any .

This keyring is so fresh that it looks as though it was only produced yesterday and is also a superb example of the quality of keyrings which were issued with new cars by dealerships at the time – compare this one with whatever is now handed out with an imitation leather keyfob produced overseas – if you are lucky .

It has a lovely jewellery quality vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather gold embossed with the details of the dealership.

The vitreous enamel badge is in superb condition with the top section of the crest in white enamel .

It is generally agreed that this design of crest relates to pre-1972 cars but manufacturers of keyrings often tended to carry on using the earlier badge for some years after Porsche had discontinued representing the top section in white – it could also have been that this dealership preferred the earlier style of crest .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive – a particularly relevant keyring to place with a car known to have passed through this dealership at the time .

Over the last few years the values of classic Porsche cars ( particularly 911s ) have continued to rise and the values of original keyrings relating to those cars has also risen accordingly as owners searching for a keyring relevant for their car will have discovered .

An original  keyring such as this one placed with a car known to have passed through this dealership could elevate the value of the car by some considerable margin well beyond the initial cost of the keyring – compared to the value of the car the price of the keyring ( which reflects what we have to pay to put a keyring of this rarity and quality into stock ) fades into insignificance .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
