Porsche – original vintage new old stock 1980s keyring with ‘genuine leather’ gold emboss -collector’s item

An original Porsche keyring which we would think will have been produced in the 1980s .

Do not overlook this keyring on the grounds that the badge looks to be a common badge – yes this badge has been reproduced since the 1980s but this keyring is rather more than that as is revealed below ……………….

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring is in new old stock condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob gold embossed with the genuine leather symbol ……………but this keyfob is actually in very good quality imitation leather although you will have to examine it very closely to be sure that it is not genuine leather !

Sadly this deception was common practice in the 1970s & 1980s before trades descriptions legislation had grown teeth .

Both keyfob and badge are marked ‘ MADE IN ENGLAND ‘

So far as we can remember this is the only example of what will have been a common keyring at the time which we have ever listed .

An excellent quality British made keyring produced before standards started to decline and then production finally moved overseas .

Very many keyrings just like this one will probably have been in use in Porsche cars in the 1980s – most of which will have been thrown away when the owner changed their car or simply discarded when they started to wear .

As such – a keyring like this one is a relatively rare survivor which could be a valuable addition to any 1980s Porsche as a keyring which was actually in common use at the time where complete originality is important .

The vitreous enamel badge is marked ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ and many similar badges ( some thus marked and some not ) were produced in Birmingham after the time of this keyring being fitted to the later keyrings with the badge riveted onto a keyfob in faux leather – we do come across these badges fairly regularly and generally offer them remounted onto new leather keyfobs – they were still being produced in vitreous enamel until fairly recently and were still excellent quality badges .
