Volkswagen – original vintage 1990s new old stock ? Manhattan Windsor keyring – collector’s item

A superb original Volkswagen keyring produced by Manhattan Windsor which we would think will have been produced during the 1990s – towards the end of Manhattan Windsor’s production .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This is the only example of one of these Manhattan Windsor Volkswagen keyrings which we have ever listed – very few can have been produced .

This Volkswagen keyring was produced by Manhattan Windsor of Birmingham who have become recognised as being the premier manufacturer of the finest British automotive keyrings ever produced – sadly they closed their doors some time ago having produced keyrings for over 30 years .

This keyring has a nickel plated badge with jewellery quality cobalt blue vitreous enamelling of the highest standard .

The reverse of the badge is marked with Manhattan Windsor’s details .

The badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather of a generous thickness gold embossed ‘ TOP GRAIN LEATHER ‘

The splitring is even in a gloss black anodised finish – the attention to detail which Manhattan Windsor went to is beyond belief .

This keyring looks to be in new old stock condition – we would not think that it will ever have been used.

It will be one of the last top quality British made traditional keyrings with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a genuine leather keyfob ever produced for Volkswagen .

From the late 1950s until the 1990s almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were produced in England – it was quite an industry .

Sadly almost all car keyrings are now produced overseas generally with plastic resin badges mounted onto imitation leather keyfobs .

The keyring in the photos is the keyring which you will receive – a lovely keyring which could be used in any Volkswagen vehicle of the period or as a retro keyring in a much later car .

The ultimate Volkswagen keyring for that special car and for the Volkswagen driver  who ( like us ) still likes to use a traditional leather keyring !

This keyring is almost Volkswagen jewellery and it almost seems a shame to actually use it as intended – it should be placed in a collection .
