Jaguar – original vintage new old stock 1980s Manhattan Windsor leaper keyring with solid polished brass badge -collector’s item

An original Jaguar keyring which we would think will have been produced in the 1980s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

What a superb keyring and will be correct for use in later Jaguar models such as XJ6 & XJ12 & early XJ-S .

This is only the 2nd example of one of these Manhattan Windsor Jaguar keyrings of this leaper design with a polished solid brass badge which we have ever listed .

This keyring is in new old stock condition and still mounted onto the original display card and will never have been used.

We have previously listed and sold just one similar keyring with the badge in nickel plating .

These keyrings do appear from time to time in used condition but seldom in the new old stock condition which this keyring is in .

Produced by Manhattan Windsor of Birmingham who are sadly no longer in business but made what have become to be recognised as the finest car keyrings ever produced .

The heavy polished solid brass keyfob badge is mounted onto a keyfob in Manhattan Windsor’s trademark full grain genuine black leather gold embossed ‘ TOP GRAIN LEATHER ‘.

Bud Marston describes these leaper keyrings in his ‘ Vintage Jaguar Keyrings ‘ book featured at the beginning of our Jaguar section .

He notes that the crisp execution of the cast lettering may have deteriorated over the time which these keyrings were produced – probably due to the die wearing with use .

In that case our keyring is probably one of the earlier ones produced as the cast detail is very crisp .

Bud states that the iconic Jaguar leaper is one of the most recognised motoring symbols in the world .
