Austin Healey – original 1960s vitreous enamel badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original Austin Healey keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

When this keyring with this badge has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

Original Austin Healey keyfob badges like this one are very scarce items – we have seen & listed very few over the last 10 years.

The reason is that keyrings with these badges were used on a daily basis in open topped cars and very few have survived over the last 50 years .

This vitreous enamel badge is in excellent condition – the enamel is perfect without any chips or surface scratches whatsoever.

The only criticism that we can level at it is that the nickel plating between 5 o’clock & 9 o’clock on the inner plated circle has disappeared together with other odd areas.

This can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos but is not actually noticeable when viewed at life size with the naked eye.

Apart from that – a superb badge as almost all that do remain will have enamel chips…..which is noticeable.

We would think that the badge will have been made by Heath Machin Ltd of Walsall at the time and would originally have been mounted onto one of their own leather keyfobs.
