An original HWM dealership keyring which we would think will date from the 1970s.

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This original HWM keyring is in new old stock condition and will never have been used .

We have listed very few original HWM keyrings over the years from all eras and this one is the very best example which we have seen .

The keyring was produced by Manhattan Windsor of Birmingham who made most Aston Martin & Jaguar keyrings at the time .

Manhattan Windsor are remembered as being producers of automotive keyrings of the very finest quality – this particular keyring showcasing their abilities .

The jewellery quality vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine full grain black leather gold embossed with HWM’s pre early 1980s telephone no.

From the Walton-On-Thames telephone number we know that the keyring dates from before the early 1980s as the 0932 code changed to 01932 in the early 1980s .

HWM ( Hersham & Walton Motors Ltd ) of Walton on Thames are a prestigious Aston Martin dealership which can trace it’s roots back to the late 1940s when it began building Jaguar racing cars.

In 1953 the Company began producing cars with modified Jaguar XK engines – some of these raced in Formula 2.

HWM also produced a Jaguar powered car for Formula 1.

Sadly one of the 2 partners – John Heath – died in 1956 in an HWM Jaguar as a result of an accident  during the Mille Miglia road race.

The other partner – George Abecassis gave up with the racing and concentrated on his expanding garage business which remains on the same site to this day.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive and would be a very valuable addition to an Aston Martin , Daimler or Jaguar car known to have been supplied by the dealership at the time.

Bud Marston’s very well known major work ‘Vintage Jaguar Keyrings ‘ featured in the Jaguar section of our website shop illustrates and describes this very keyring although Bud’s example is dated as being from the 1960s .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
