NOW SOLD – Sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
An original Bentley torpedo keyring which will have been produced in the late 1950s or 1960s .
We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
This Bentley torpedo keyring was made by – Castles Unit Developments Ltd of Castle Gate, Leicester ( CUD ) and will have been made in the late 1950s or 1960s .
CUD were the only manufacturers of torpedo keyrings at the time and were famous in the late 1950s and right through the 1960s for the quality of their products which were exported worldwide.
At that time almost all keyrings for the world’s motor cars were made in England – it was quite an industry.
This keyring is in excellent condition .
The nickel plated badge has black vitreous enamel detail and is mounted onto a torpedo keyfob in genuine hide .
The leather used for the front of the keyfob is in a genuine black leather with a ‘pebbly’ grain – which we believe to be the goat skin which CUD often used for these torpedos .
Curiously the leather used for the reverse of the keyfob is a much smoother material – we have seen this difference in leather textures on other CUD torpedos .
As with all CUD torpedo keyrings which have the the badge physically attached to the keyfob ( like this example ) – the badge stands slightly proud of the keyfob surface and can ‘wobble’ about very slightly .
Some CUD torpedo badges ‘wobble ‘ around to an alarming degree – but have been doing that without fail for 60 years !
This keyring will be original & correct for use with any Bentley motor car of the period .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive. SMOSOÂ 00/541Â Â 05/23
