Leather Colours

The leathers which we use for making new keyfobs for remounting original badges onto are usually vegetable tanned leathers . Most leather in general use today is chrome tanned leather tanned with metal salts used for shoes, jackets, luggage etc  but vegetable tanned leather is tanned in the old fashioned way using tannin-rich vegetable material .

The natural oils and fats are removed and then the leather is re-oiled and re-waxed which takes quite some time .

The leather comes to us in a thickness of about 3.50mm and we skive the ‘ full grain ‘ top 2.00mm off for producing the leather keyfobs .

In a few of the listings in the shop we do have several original badges and can offer these mounted onto keyfobs in a choice of leather colours .

1)  Navy blue, Royal blue, London tan, red, and black

2) Conker brown, Tobacco, British racing green, burgundy and slate grey
