AJS - original vintage 1960s Melsom Products keyring in used condition

An original AJS keyring which will have been produced in the 1960s in used condition .

We have just this one keyring to offer in this used condition – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

An original Melsom Products of Birmingham AJS keyring which is in very good but used condition.

The vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine tan leather .

The badge has Melsom Product’s details cast into the back and is in mint condition .

The leather keyfob has Melsom’s trademark ‘Keyflix’ embossed into the leather beneath the badge .

The keyfob is in excellent condition with just a few small marks and a ‘scorch mark’on the back ! – and is original & correct for use with all Wolverhampton built AJS four stroke motorcycles up to 1969 .

We quite commonly see similar ‘scorch marks ‘ on motorcycle keyrings !

No prizes for guessing that the keyfob has been in contact with a hot exhaust pipe at some time !

Melsom Products Ltd were the most famous and prolific of British car & motorcycle keyring manufacturers during the 1960s and very early 1970s .

They made their own badges and keyrings but in some cases Heath & Machin & Co. of Walsall provided the leather keyfobs and mounted the badges on behalf of Melsoms- as could have been the case with this keyring ,

We had always assumed that Melsoms mounted their badges onto their own leather keyfobs – and it has taken us 10 years to discover that this was not always the case.

The keyring in the photos is the actual keyring which you will receive .
