Original Vintage & Restored Leather Keyrings for Classic Cars & Motorcycles

Aston Martin - original vintage 1980s/ 1990s Manhattan Windsor black border keyring

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original Aston Martin keyring which we would think will have been produced in the 1980s or 1990s

Just this one example to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring has been used but is in excellent condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine tan leather gold embossed ‘TOP GRAIN LEATHER’ .

The badge is in a gilt plated finish with a black vitreous enamel border – keyrings with these badges are scarce.

The Aston Martin winged badge is a very intricate design for enamelling and there is an enamel flaw below the right hand corner of the central ASTON MARTIN black rectangular box in the logo design.

This can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos but is not really noticeable when viewed at life size with the naked eye.

Many of these badges did have flaws due to this intricate design and the price of this keyring takes this flaw into account.

The badge is perforated as can be seen – Aston Martin still use this perforated badge design for their keyrings to this present day.

These earlier perforated badges obviously had the perforated sections milled out of solid badges as ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ remains on the back of the badge although the ‘ MANHATTAN WINDSOR ‘ detail has been milled away .

Going to this trouble presumably saved the manufacturer from having to have a separate die produced for producing this badge .

The genuine tan leather keyfob is actually pressure embossed to resemble pigskin .

Early Aston Martin keyrings in the 1950s & early 1960s had been produced in genuine pigskin leather but this had become rather too expensive to use so this ‘pigskin effect’ leather was adopted later .

Made by Manhattan Windsor of Birmingham who made almost all Aston Martin keyrings from the 1960s through to the early 2000s.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive. SMOSO  00/591   10/23
