Austin Healey Sprite - original vintage early 1960s new old stock IBEX keyring - collector's item

An original vintage new old stock Austin Healey Sprite keyring which will have been produced in the early 1960s .

Just this one keyring to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring is in new old stock condition with a jewellery quality vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather which was known in the trade as ‘elephant hide’ due to the most attractive heavily grained texture of the leather .

Please note that the stitching has missed a couple of stitching holes at the top left of the stitching pattern above the badge !

Not an uncommon fault on these early keyrings and shouldn’t cause any problems with the light use which this keyring is likely to receive .

Made in England in the 1960s by a firm of leathergoods manufacturers known as ‘IBEX’  who were founded in Northamptonshire in 1957 .

IBEX went on to produce a very well known range of leather belts which were sold all over the world .

We do sometimes come across these early IBEX keyrings for other makes of car with their most distinctive ‘ elephant hide ‘ keyfobs which are always marked ‘ MADE IN BRITAIN’ on the reverse of the badge ( how often do you read that phrase nowadays ? )

This keyring is original & correct for use with 1958 – 1961 Sprite Mk I and also 1962 – 1966 Sprite II & III .
