One of several original new old stock Austin Mini keyrings which came to us recently .

All of these were made by Avon Cliff badgemakers in the very early 1960s and are original & correct for use with 1959 – 1967 Austin Mini .

These are the very best examples of original keyrings for Austin Mini Mk I which we have ever seen – it would be very difficult or impossible to improve on one of these.

Each keyring is different – with different vitreous enamel badge colours and different coloured leathers and stitching colours.

It is unbelievable how much trouble Avon Cliff put into making these keyrings which must have been individually hand selected and stitched to achieve such variation.

Nowadays this level of attention is termed ‘bespoke’ – here we see an example of this taking place over 50 years ago !

The particular keyring in this listing is new old stock – so in virtually mint condition with a green hand laid vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a black genuine ostrich leather keyfob with red stitching – very up-market for the austere early 1960s !

Ostrich leather was occasionally used for keyfobs together with pigskin leather and other exotic leathers – these were all appreciated by customers in the early 1960s.

Ostrich leather is very distinctive with circular ‘whorls’ in the leather – we have attempted to show these in one of the photos.

The keyring in the photos is the only one in this colour combination which we have and is the actual one which you will receive .
