An original Austin Mini keyring which was produced in the late 1960s by Trend .
Hardly any of these Austin Mini Trend keyrings can ever have been produced – this is the only complete example which we have ever seen over the last 10 years .
This keyring is original & correct for use with any late 1960s or early 1970s Austin Mini.
This keyring is in very good condition with a jewellery quality vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather gold embossed on the reverse :- TREND Real Leather.
The keyring was made by a manufacturing business whose trademark was ‘Trend’ as can be seen embossed onto the back of the keyfob- we do see examples of their keyrings for other makes of car from time to time.
In the 1960s almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry.
Despite comprehensive research we have never discovered who Trend actually were !
Small enamelling businesses came & went rather rapidly in the 1960s – many were based in the Birmingham area which had a tradition of vitreous enamelling.
There may have been a tie-up with a badgemaker known as ‘Alexander’ – occasionally a badge marked ‘Alexander’ crops up mounted onto a ‘Trend’ leather keyfob.
A top quality British made item produced at a time when many items like this were becoming mass produced & very poorly finished .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold then this listing will be cancelled.
