1 in stock
An original Bugatti torpedo keyring which we would think will have been produced in the early 1960s .
We have just this one example of this very rare Bugatti torpedo keyring made by Toye & Co. to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
This keyring is in age worn condition :- the vitreous enamel badge is in good condition for it’s age with just a few tiny chips & indents in the enamel – the largest chip being just to the right hand side of ‘BU’ of BUGATTI .
The genuine black leather keyfob is still in serviceable condition but the leather has become rippled due to the keyfob having been soaked with water at some time.
In use this will probably tend to flatten out to a degree but is unlikely to assume it’s original flat condition .
The badge is still very securely attached to the keyfob and the splitring is securely fitted in the brass eyelet .
The stitching is good & tight .
The badge is marked ‘TOYE & CO. LONDON ‘
In the early 1960s there were many badgemakers in the London & Birmingham areas – most of whom did not survive beyond the 1960s – Toyes being one of them.
Interestingly the badge mounted onto this keyring is exactly the same badge as Craftsman were using a few years later – quite possibly CUD & then Craftsman took the badge die over when Toyes ceased production .
Despite it’s age worn condition this keyring is still an important historical item due to it’s rarity .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
