Castrol - original new old stock 1970s? vitreous enamel badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

The badges used for these keyrings are original vintage new old stock badges which we would think will have been produced in the 1970s which we have remounted onto new leather keyfobs as can be seen in the photos.

High quality badges like these in genuine vitreous enamel have not been made as promotional items for many years on account of the expense.

When the few keyrings which we have with these badges have been sold this listing will be cancelled .

These badges are in mint condition and will almost certainly have been made in Birmingham over 40 years ago ( possibly by Melsom Products Ltd who closed in the late 1970s ) intended to be used on promotional keyrings for Castrol Ltd .

The badges are in top quality jewellery grade vitreous enamel and we have remounted them onto new keyfobs in full grain black leather .

Melsom’s details are not cast onto the back of the badges – but this usually happened when they made commercial promotion keyfob badges like these as the firms involved ordered the badges to be made plain without the manufacturer’s details on them ( A keyring with an identical badge but with Castrol’s details on the back is currently listed for sale in this website shop – unless now sold )

Whenever top quality engine oil is mentioned one of the brands which always springs to mind is…………………..Castrol !

The name Castrol is so well known within motoring circles that no further discussion is necessary here.

One of these keyrings with the Castrol badge looks so ‘correct’ in the ignition of almost any classic vehicle we can think of.

One of these keyrings would be  particularly useful where an original keyfob badge for that vehicle was never made or is difficult to find .
