Citroen – original new old stock 1990s keyring with an acrylic badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine green leather

An original Citroen keyring which will have been produced in the 1990s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring is in new old stock condition with an acrylic dome badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine green leather – it will never have been used.

The gold plated flat splitring matches the gold plating on the badge .

It will have been produced by Renamel Ltd in their final Honeypot Lane London location shortly before they closed their doors .

Renamel had produced some of the first acrylic badged keyrings in the late 1970s & early 1980s which had the very real advantage over traditional vitreous enamel badged keyrings in that the badge did not crack or break when dropped onto a hard surface .

Their original badges were marked ‘ RENAMEL made in England’ on the reverse but later badges like the one mounted onto this keyring were no longer marked.

Renamel’s keyrings were almost always produced in imitation leather but this keyring is an exception as the keyfob is in genuine green leather .

Renamel keyrings were budget priced but were well made and were produced in considerable numbers but not many like this one will have survived particularly in this condition – so we would regard this keyring as being a rare survivor of a keyring in very common use at the time .
