1 in stock
An original David Brown keyring which will have been produced in the 1970s .
We have just this one keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .
This is only the 2nd original example of this keyring which we have ever listed – both were in a well worn condition as you would expect of a keyring which has been subjected to the rigours of use on a farm tractor !
This keyring is still in serviceable condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather.
The enamel in the badge is still intact but worn and crazed whilst the leather keyfob is well worn in but still with tight stitching .
Made by the famous Manhattan Windsor Co. of Birmingham whose details are cast into the back of the badge.
We would think that Manhattan Windsor will have made just one or two batches of these keyrings at the time – almost all of which will by now have become worn out and discarded long since – probably ploughed into the furrow which was being formed as the keyring finally disintegrated .
This keyring will be original & correct for use with any early 1970s David Brown tractor – and hundreds were in use on Lincolnshire farms at that time.
I was working on a farm near Bourne in Lincolnshire at that time and well remember a couple of brand new David Brown Selectamatics arriving on the farm.
Both were parked in an open barn for the night with full tanks of fuel and left running on 2/3rds throttle for the night.
In the morning they were considered to be fully run in and put to work immediately !
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason or cancel your order – a full refund will be given.
