Ferrari - original late 1960s/ early 1970s melsom products vitreous enamel badge restored & remounted onto a new keyfob in black saddlery hide

This keyring has an original vintage British made Ferrari keyfob badge which will have been produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s which we have had restored and re-enamelled and have then remounted onto a new saddlery hide keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

We are currently offering just this one keyring with this restored re-enamelled badge remounted onto a keyfob in black saddlery hide – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

We are also currently listing just one restored keyfob badge remounted onto a keyfob in tan saddlery hide and just one restored keyfob badge remounted onto a keyfob in red saddlery hide      ( unless now sold )

This Ferrari keyfob badge was made by Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham and is one of several which we took into stock some years back together with other keyfob badges which had been in store since Melsom Products Ltd closed in the early 1970s .

Melsom Products were a major manufacturer of automotive keyrings from the mid 1960s until the early 1970s – so we know that these badges will date from that period .

We had the badges restored and re-enamelled – at that time it was still possible to have vitreous enamelling carried out in England which is sadly no longer the case so far as we know .

We then finally used one small bespoke vitreous enameller in England who has also ceased to offer restorative enamelling since Autumn 2023 .

Having badges restored & re-enamelled is something which we have very rarely had done due to the cost but felt it was worthwhile in the case of these few badges .

We have remounted this particular re-enamelled badge onto a new leather keyfob in black saddlery hide .

The quality of the enamelling is simply superb and we have chosen to remount the badge onto the keyfob shape which Melsom Products Ltd would have used at the time .

The enamelling on each badge is very slightly different so we prefer to offer each remounted badge separately with it’s own photos .
