This keyring is an original vintage British made Ferrari keyring which will have been produced in the 1970s .

We have just this one example to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring is in new old stock condition with an acrylic dome badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather .

These keyrings were hand assembled in the 1970s – and the badge is slightly askew as can be seen in the photos – human error !

The leather keyfob has a glossy grained texture and does resemble faux leather ………………but is actually genuine leather !

Made by Renamel of London who were the first keyring manufacturer to offer keyrings like these with acrylic dome badges  .

Their earliest keyrings were marked ‘RENAMEL’ – like this one .

These badges were quite a revelation at the time and did not chip when dropped onto a hard surface like the usual vitreous enamel keyfob badges .

Renamel used quite an original method of mounting their badges onto their early keyfobs as can be seen in the photos.

The badge has a close spaced double slot through which the badge strap is passed – which effectively locks the badge onto the strap .

Very simple and did work well but it seems Renamel did later change to a more conventional method of mounting badges onto keyfobs .

Ferrari are one of the very few manufacturers who had their own keyrings produced – and still do to this day.

Their own original keyrings have always been produced in Italy to a very high standard .

At the same time a few British manufacturers did also produce Ferrari keyrings – of which this keyring is an early example – but these were generally not produced to the same standard as the genuine Ferrari keyrings .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive and is a rare example of a British made Renamel Ferrari keyring – the only one of it’s type which we have ever listed .
