Fiat Strada – original vintage early 1980s keyring

An original Fiat Strada keyring which will have been produced during the early 1980s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This is the only keyring which we have ever listed for Fiat Strada – quite a rarity !

This keyring is in good used condition .

The plated metal badge has a domed  acrylic insert and is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine very dark tan leather .

The keyfob is stitched around the edge and the badge is strongly secured to the keyfob by means of a strap and a bright plated rivet .

The leather keyfob is well worn in with use but still perfectly serviceable .

It could have been produced  by Renamel of Kilburn High Road , London – they were the main producer of these acrylic badged keyrings at the time although other manufacturers soon started producing keyrings with acrylic badges as well .

These acrylic badges had a very important advantage over the more traditional vitreous badges – they didn’t crack or break when dropped onto a hard surface .

Keyrings with these badges were cheaper to buy than their vitreous enamel badged counterparts and we would think that many Fiat Strada cars will have been driven with a keyring like this one at the time .

As these keyrings were relatively cheap to buy at the time they were not particularly valued and were soon discarded when they became worn or when the owner changed to another make of car – so relatively few of these keyrings will have survived .
