Ford Mustang – original 1970s vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a leather keyfob in light tan leather

The keyring in this listing is an original vintage Ford keyring which will have been produced over 45 years ago.

An original Ford Mustang keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1970s which has been mounted onto a later keyfob ( not by us )

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring is in new old stock condition with an original vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob of generous thickness in genuine light tan leather .

The contrasting stitching is in linen thread with 3 slightly slack stitches at the base of the keyfob – not of any great importance but best pointed out – these can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos .

We do very occasionally come across keyrings where we suspect that the badge has been remounted onto a new leather keyfob at some stage in it’s life ………this is one of them .

The leather keyfob looks to be a Manhattan Windsor of Birmingham keyfob – their keyfobs were very distinctive and of very good quality .

However the badge is not one of theirs – so maybe a previous owner has remounted the badge or maybe Manhattan Windsor didn’t expect to produce many of these keyrings so it was not economical to produce their own badges and they bought the badge in from another manufacturer .

None of this is particularly important of course – this is an excellent keyring for use in any Ford Mustang car but we felt we should point this out .
