Gulf Petroleum ( Ford GT40 ) – original vintage new old stock keyring – collector’s item

An original Gulf Petroleum keyring which we would think will have been produced in the 1960s .

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

A rare keyring – we have only listed and sold one other complete original Gulf keyring over the years apart from a couple of loose keyfob badges which were listed and sold remounted onto new keyfobs .

This keyring is in new old stock condition and was made by the very well known & well respected badgemakers J.R. GAUNT of London .

Quite a prestigious firm to be making a keyring which was essentially a promotional item at the time .

The enamelling is in coach enamel which will have been hand applied – not the more usual vitreous enamel .

The badge is mounted onto a keyfob in black vinyl – vinyl was often used for keyfobs in the 1960s as it was considered more weatherproof than leather .

This Gulf badge in these colours will always be associated with the 1967 Ford GT40 in Gulf Livery.
