An original Guy Motors brooch which we would think will have been produced in the 1960s.
When this brooch has been sold this listing will be cancelled .
The brooch is in very good condition with vitreous enamelling although there are a couple of small sections of enamel missing from the feathers in the centre of the head-dress .
This can be plainly seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos .
A tiny brooch measuring about 15mm ( 0.6″) in width .
The brooch can be attached to clothing by means of the pin & keep on the back of the brooch – all working as they should .
Made in the days when drivers of these vehicles generally wore a sports jacket where a badge like this could be worn.
This was a badge of honour and enabled kindred drivers to recognise one another when stopped at 1950s & 1960s roadside cafes which were before the modern truckstop.
This subtle little badge was all that was needed in those days – soon to be replaced by tee-shirts with garish logos stretched across the wearer’s chest.
The ‘feathers in our cap’ Indian Chief with full head-dress was proudly in place on the radiator on Guy trucks .
The lapel badge in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
