An original H.M.Bentley & Partners Ltd keyring which we would think will have been issued in the late 1950s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This is the only H.M.Bentley & Partners Ltd keyring which we have ever seen and listed .

This keyring is in age-worn condition as can be seen in the listing photos .

The nickel plated badge has blue vitreous enamel detail :- there is some loss of enamel and the nickel plating has worn from the sharp edges of the badge .

The badge is marked ‘ Caxton of Kew’ on the reverse – Caxtons were a very well respected London badgemaker but have been closed for a long time .

The badge is mounted onto a genuine black leather keyfob gold embossed ‘ H.M.BENTLEY & PARTNERS LTD LONDON W1  ‘ together with two 01 prefix London ‘phone numbers for SALES & SERVICE ‘

The gold embossing is worn but still legible.

We believe that the 01 London prefix was introduced in 1958 so this keyring will probably date from around then .

The leather keyfob is  in well worn condition as can be seen from the photos but is still intact and serviceable .

W.O.Bentley & his brother H.M. Bentley ( Horace Millner ) founded Bentley in North London .

The 2 brothers originally dealt in French cars but then decided to produce their own .

H.M.Bentley was building his own cars in the late 1930s and was instrumental in keeping vintage Bentley cars on the road .

He was one of the earliest to re-build 3 litre & 4.5 litre cars – combining the best elements from both designs to build what Autocar magazine called ” A hybrid old-type Bentley ” .

This keyring would be of particular interest for placing with a car known to have passed through H.M.Bentley & Partner’s Ltd showrooms or workshop but will almost certainly be bought to add to a Bentley collection .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
