NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
An original Honda keyfob badge which will have been produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .
Just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when this keyring with this badge has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
This keyring has an absolutely superb original vitreous enamel Honda motorcycle keyfob badge which we have remounted onto a new keyfob in black saddlery hide .
The badge mounted onto the keyring in this listing is in virtually mint condition and is around 50 years old !
Honda motorcycle keyrings and keyfob badges hardly ever come to market in even decent condition – they were used on open motorcycles in all weathers and suffered accordingly .
Unusually this is the 2nd example we have received over the last few weeks – the last one was similar but in yellow vitreous enamel .
By the criss-cross hatching and style of ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ on the back of the badge we know that this badge was made by Melsom Products of Birmingham .
Melsoms were only producing badges & keyrings from the mid 1960s until the very early 1970s so this badge is easy to date .
In the 1960s & 1970s almost all keyrings for cars & motorcycles were made in Britain – it was quite an industry – the irony being that whilst the keyrings were made in England ……..Japanese bikes like Hondas were at the same time finishing the British motorcycle industry for good until Triumph became reborn again .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive . SMOSO 00/59 06/23
