An original Honda motorcycle  keyring which will have been produced in the late 1970s or early 1980s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This is the only example of one of these original Honda Renamel keyrings which we have ever listed .

We would think that a good number of these keyrings will have been produced at the time but almost all will by now have been thrown away when they wore out or became damaged or have simply been lost or discarded .

This particular keyring is in very good condition with an acrylic dome badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather – which is unusual for a Renamel keyring .

The leather keyfob has a glossy and polished look to it  and does resemble imitation leather ………………but is actually genuine leather .

It is ‘corrected grain’ leather where the surface grain has been removed to reveal the consistent smooth texture beneath .

The leather is bonded together rather than being stitched although ‘dummy’ stitching is embossed around the edge of the keyfob .

Made by Renamel of London who were the first keyring manufacturer to offer keyrings like these with acrylic dome badges  .

Their earlier keyrings were marked ‘ MADE IN ENGLAND ‘ in a bold font like this one ( and also occasionally ‘RENAMEL ‘ )

These acrylic dome badges were quite a revelation at the time and did not chip when dropped onto a hard surface like the usual vitreous enamel keyfob badges – so were particularly suited to a hard life on an open motorcycle ( the badge on this keyring is virtually perfect )

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive and was a type of keyring much in use on Honda bikes in the late 1970s & 1980s .
