1 in stock
An original keyring commemorating the 1998 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy races.
Keyrings like this one will have been available to buy on the Island during the period of the races.
Of all the many thousands of keyrings which we have listed and sold over the last almost 20 years ……….the badge on this keyring stands out as being possibly the loveliest of all keyfob badges which we have ever seen ….just examine the photos closely ………!
This beautiful keyring is in really excellent condition – probably having being bought at the time as a souvenir rather than as a keyring to actually use .
The lovely jewellery quality vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a keyfob in black faux leather of a generous thickness.
The 1998 TT was one of the wettest on record with some races cancelled due to the weather – TT race cancellations had hitherto been virtually unheard of .
Ian Simpson won the TT on a Honda with a winning lap speed of 118.74 mph .
Michael Rutter came second – also on a Honda.
Sadly 3 riders died during the event :- Mike Casey, Ian Hardisty and John Henderson.
A fourth rider, 66-year old Jack Trustham, died of a heart attack during a parade lap commemorating Honda’s achievements on the island.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
