1 in stock

An original vintage Jaguar keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

We are offering just this one keyring with this actual badge – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

The badge mounted onto the keyring in this listing is in really excellent condition .

We have remounted the badge onto a new keyfob in full grain black leather as can be seen in the photos .

We do then have three more of these badges to offer remounted onto new leather keyfobs at a later stage but none of them are in the condition that this badge is in – in the 1960s the vitreous enamel was hand laid and each badge is different .

In that case we prefer to offer each badge remounted separately and the photos show the actual keyring which you will receive by buying this keyring from this listing .

Having now dealt with original vintage automotive keyrings for many years it is fair to say that we are unlikely to get too excited about any particular keyring……………………..but that is not the case with these particular keyfob badges !

These original Jaguar keyfob badges are the first original examples of this design which we have seen since we first started listing Jaguar keyrings all those years ago !

This particular design embodies the best of everything in our opinion – a charismatic Jaguar Growler surrounded by a most distinctive & eye catching sunburst design in red & black vitreous enamel .

The lettering on the badge is perfectly balanced top & bottom and says it all – Jaguar made in Coventry England .

These badges were produced in the 1960s and are in hand laid vitreous enamel and feature the iconic Jaguar ‘Growler’ upon a translucent red ‘ sunburst’ background .

Being hand laid – each badge is slightly different – they were not produced with the perfect precision of modern resin based enamel badges .

In his ‘Vintage Jaguar Keyrings’ book featured at the beginning of our Jaguar section in this website shop, Bud Marston features one of these badges on page 138 .

There are many versions of the ‘Red Growler’ as Bud terms them but the example above is this exact badge .

Bud’s badge was apparently made by Freeline of Bristol – our badges are not as all Freeline badges were marked ‘ Freeline ‘ .

Almost certainly ours will have been made by one of the Birmingham badgemakers who were operating at the time – the reverse of the badge is simply marked ‘ MADE IN ENGLAND .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
