An original vintage Jaguar keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

We are offering just this one keyring with this actual badge – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

We do have a couple more of these badges to offer at a later stage when this keyring has been sold – in the 1960s the vitreous enamel was usually individually hand laid and each badge is slightly different .

In that case we prefer to offer each badge remounted separately and the photos show the actual keyring which you will receive by buying this keyring from this listing – this particular badge has slightly dark shading beneath the ‘JA ‘ of ‘JAGUAR’  as can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos.

An original vitreous enamel Jaguar keyfob badge which came to us together with other badges from the closed premises of Heath Machin & Co. in Walsall England .

The badge is in excellent condition as can be seen in the photos.

Heath Machin & Co. made their own range of automotive keyrings and also mounted keyfob badges onto leather keyfobs for other manufacturers including Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham .

This badge has a very distinctive pointed shield shape which was peculiar to The Pool Clock Company who were badgemakers in Aldersgate Street in London EC1 in the 1960s .

We occasionally see examples of their badges – always in this shape and usually marked ‘POLCO – MADE IN ENGLAND ‘ on the reverse .

Recorded information regarding badgemakers & keyring manufacturers in the 1960s is very sparse – so it can be difficult to be absolutely certain who actually made a particular keyring or keyfob badge.

It may be that this badge was made by POLCO and had been delivered together with other badges to Heath Machin for mounting onto leather keyfobs but this never happened due to the closure of POLCO – or maybe Heath Machin bought the badge dies after the closure of POLCO and continued to make the badges for their own use and simply cast ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ onto the reverse of the badges and omitted ‘POLCO’ .

Heath Machin were bought by new owners in the early 1970s and continued to make small leather goods up until the 1990s .

POLCO Jaguar keyfob badges are featured in Bud Marston’s ‘ Vintage Jaguar Keyrings ‘ book together with other examples still mounted onto their original leather keyfobs.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive and this badge is original & correct for use with any 1960s Jaguar motor car .

When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .
