Jaguar – original 1960s vitreous enamel gear knob badge inlaid into a new leather keyfob

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original Jaguar vitreous enamel gear knob badge which will have been produced in the 1960s which we have inlaid into a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

We have just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

What a superb original badge !

This is a badge which we have not seen an example of before – it is a full 30mm in width whereas most JAGUAR COVENTRY badges were 27mm in width .

Additionally the growler is in 3D relief – most unusual .

We are told that these badges were inserted in the gear knobs of Jaguar cars destined for South Africa in the 1960s – this particular badge apparently having been used in a 3.8 litre MK II car .

Not being expert in matters Jaguar we cannot substantiate this but this is certainly a most striking badge and in lovely condition .

We have bonded the badge onto a thin oversized circular brass plate which has then been inlaid into the leather keyfob and stitched in place – this is something which we have successfully done with other gear knob badges over the years .

The leather keyfob itself is our standard teardrop shape and we have selected a particularly attractively marked swatch of full grain ‘vintage’ black leather to complement the badge .

Although not an original Jaguar keyring as such ………….. this is a superb keyring with an original vintage Jaguar badge which could be used with any Jaguar vehicle and would also very much ‘look the part’ used as a ‘retro’ keyring in a much more recent Jaguar car .

Very much a one-off keyring – we are most unlikely to ever have the opportunity to produce another .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive . SMOSO  00/571   12/24
