Jaguar - original 1970s black/ gold border 'winking Jaguar' badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original vintage Jaguar keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1970s which we have remounted onto a new keyfob in black leather as can be seen in the photos .

We have just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

A rare 40 + year old Jaguar keyfob badge in very good condition- so far as we can remember this is only the 2nd original example of this keyfob badge which we have ever listed apart from one completely original keyring still with it’s original leather keyfob which was sold some time ago.

The badge on this keyring is not to be confused with a later version of the badge which was produced at a later stage – but that badge is in acrylic resin rather than the vitreous enamel which the badge on this keyring has been produced in – and has a smooth polished back whereas this badge has a stippled design on the back together with ‘ MADE IN ENGLAND’ .

We have remounted this badge onto a new keyfob in black saddlery hide.

Examples of this keyfob badge are shown & described in Bud Marston’s Vintage Jaguar keyrings book which is featured at the beginning of our Jaguar section in this website shop.

Bud dates the badges to the 1970s and states that the growler is exhibiting a distinctive left-cheek snarl – here in the UK the badge has been dubbed ‘The Winking Jaguar ‘ .

Bud carries in to say that badges with this ‘anomaly’ carry no maker’s mark – as is the case with this badge which is simply marked ‘ MADE IN ENGLAND ’ .
