1 in stock
An original Jaguar keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .
We have just this one example of this keyring with this original badge to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
A very scarce original Jaguar keyfob badge – this is the only example which we have ever listed apart from just one original badge still mounted onto it’s original leather keyfob which was listed and sold relatively recently .
This keyfob badge is in very good condition apart from three small enamel chips and some wear to the nickel plating over the growler’s nose – all of this can be readily seen in the high resolution enlarged listing photos but the badge does present well when viewed in the hand at lifesize.
The reverse of the badge has the plated stippled pattern which was used for many keyfob badges at the time .
This badge will most probably have been made in Birmingham in the late 1960s by one of the smaller badgemakers – there were quite a few of them operating at the time.
Only those who operated on a sound commercial footing survived with those who didn’t do so falling by the wayside or being taken over by the larger concerns .
We have remounted the badge onto a new keyfob in tan leather in exactly the same style as the keyfob which the badge was originally mounted onto .
The mortal remains of this tan leather keyfob came to us together with the badge and a couple of keys from the car which the keyring had originally been used with .
These can be seen in the listing photos and will be passed on to the buyer of this keyring .
Examples of a couple of keyrings with this exact badge are illustrated & described in Bud Marston’s Vintage Jaguar keyrings book featured at the beginning of our Jaguar section in this website shop .
It is actually Bud who originally described these badges as ‘yellow border red growlers ‘ .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive – a very scarce original Jaguar keyfob badge now safely remounted onto a fresh new leather keyfob and ready to continue it’s travels from where it last left off .
