Jaguar – original vintage late 1960s vinyl decal insert badge keyring – collector’s item

An original Jaguar keyring which will have been produced in the late 1960s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This keyring is in good condition for it’s age with a vinyl insert badge within an aluminium base mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather embossed ‘REAL LEATHER – MADE IN ENGLAND’

The vinyl insert badge has a split in it ( which has probably been there for a very long time ) which can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos .

The genuine leather keyfob shows a pleasing patina of age and use .

Keyrings like this one were produced as ‘budget’ keyrings in the late 1960s – they did not have the high quality vitreous enamel badges which many keyrings had – neither did they cost as much .

Consequently very few have survived whereas the more expensive versions tended to be stored away at the back of drawers rather than being thrown away when they were no longer being used.

This particular keyring is unusual in that it has a good quality genuine leather keyfob – most were produced with imitation leather keyfobs .

These keyrings are described in Bud Marston’s ‘Vintage Jaguar Keyrings’ book featured at the beginning of our Jaguar section here in this website shop.

Whilst keyrings like this one were not produced to the same standards as many Jaguar keyrings they are in fact rarer for the reasons stated and the very few which do appear in good condition are very worthy of taking their place in a collection of Jaguar keyrings as important examples of original Jaguar keyrings.
