John Deere – original vintage medallion with later keychain – rare collector’s item

An original John Deere keyfob medallion ( or possibly a watch fob medallion ) which we have fitted a new keychain to .

We have just this one medallion to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This medallion is in excellent condition as can be seen from the photos and is the only example which we have ever listed .

Inscribed on the medallion is ” He gave to the world the steel plow ” ………..just imagine the significance of this statement as regards feeding the burgeoning population of this world .

It came to us from USA and could have been intended to be used with a chain as a keychain ( keyring ) or as a watch fob – as these were common items in USA .

The medallion measures 1″ ( 25mm ) in diameter .

The medallion came to us without a chain and we have fitted the new keychain and splitring from our own stock .

The ‘new’ keychain & splitring  are original new old stock items which are already of some age .

The medallion commemorates the John Deere Centennial in 1937 and we would assume that it dates from that time although we have no means of knowing for sure .

The medallion could be in silver although it is not hall marked as such ……………maybe USA does not have a hall marking system ?
