1 in stock
An original JPS keyfob badge which will have been produced in the late 1970s or early 1980s .
We have just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .
Original JPS keyrings and keyfob badges are scarce items .
We have only ever listed 2 completely original keyrings still with their original keyfobs attached.
This keyring has a scarce original JPS badge which we have remounted onto a new keyfob in black saddlery hide.
The black vitreous enamel on gilt badge is in very good condition although the definition of the gilt plating is a little imprecise .
All perfectly legible but the definition between the gilt plating and the black enamel could be sharper .
Of more importance is that the black vitreous enamel is completely intact without any chips or damage .
The badge has probably never been attached to a keyfob and used as it still appears to have a thin coat of lacquer .
This was commonly applied to gilt plated keyfob badges as the gilt tended to mellow if not in regular use although a quick rub with a cloth would soon restore the shine if so desired .
In the 1970s & 1980s commercial sponsorship of F1 racing was at it’s peak and between 1972 & 1986 John Player sponsored Lotus and specially designed livery was produced .
That black & gold brand is still recognised and passionately remembered by Lotus enthusiasts worldwide .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive
