Land Rover - original early 2000s? vitreous enamel badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

Vitreous enamel Land Rover keyfob badges which will have been produced in Birmingham just a few years ago which we have remounted onto  new leather keyfobs as can be seen in the photos.

We have 2 keyrings with this badge to offer – when both keyrings have been sold this listing will be cancelled.

These badges are virtually identical to the original keyfob badges which were produced in the 1970s – but these badges are NOT original 1970s badges –  they were produced much later .

Up until the early 2000s there were several badgemakers in the Birmingham area still making keyrings with superb quality ‘old school’ vitreous enamel badges like these .

In many cases the badges were still produced from the original badge dies.

These badges do still turn up as these 2 badges have done  – both still in new condition – they do not appear to have been used.

We did list a couple of keyrings with similar badges last year .

‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ marked on the back of the badges – modern acrylic resin badges are unlikely to have this as they are no longer made in England.

Sadly vitreous enamel keyfob badges like these are apparently no longer made in England – all that are available now are in modern resin based enamel produced overseas .

Maybe one day in the future lovely quality badges like these will once again be made in England ……………………..but the areas where the workshops stood have now generally been built over with housing estates and the craftsmen with their knowledge and skills have gone .

This badge design would be relevant for any Land Rover vehicle from the 1960s Series II Land Rovers up until the present day.
