We do not have a licence to produce any of the recent Land Rover logos or badges.
The badges mounted onto these pigskin leather keyfobs are original vitreous enamel badges which were produced 50 years ago in the late 1960s.
Apart from the well known lemon yellow oval classic Land Rover badge and the green oval badge very little was produced at the time in the way of badges for keyrings for classic Land Rovers .
Over the last 10 years we have come across a couple of these original gold and black vitreous enamel badges which we have sold remounted onto new leather keyfobs.
We have now received just a few of these original new old stock badges which came from the leather works of Heath & Machin in Walsall, England.
Heath & Machin produced their own badges ( these are some of those ) for their own keyrings and also mounted badges onto leather keyfobs for other manufacturers – most notably Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham.
Heath & Machin changed hands in the early 1970s and continued making small leather goods up until the 1990s.
These badges are new old stock and in mint condition and are so special that we are offering them remounted onto genuine pigskin leather keyfobs in either tan or black pigskin leather ( order London tan or black )
Pigskin leather was ( and is ! ) a luxurious leather which was occasionally used for keyfobs in the 1960s – usually for prestige cars.
It was always expensive and was prized for it’s appearance and hard wearing durability which was ideal for keyfobs which receive a lot of handling and rough treatment ( ideal for a Land Rover !)
Pigskin leather seems to be a thing of the past and no longer available in the grade needed for making keyfobs – the material which we use was sourced from a closed Midlands factory which had been using it for covering hip flasks and making wallets – and keyfobs- quite some time ago.
These are superb keyrings with a late 1960s period correct vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a period correct keyfob shape which will look the part in any 1960s or 1970s Land Rover or could be used as a ‘retro’ keyring in a much later vehicle.
Sadly when all the few badges which we have are mounted and sold then this listing will be cancelled.
