An original Land Rover keyring which we would think will have been produced in the 1980s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

So far as we can remember this is the only complete example of this keyring which we have ever listed – some time ago we listed & sold one of these badges which had come to us loose and we had remounted it onto a new leather keyfob .

The keyring was made by Manhattan Windsor of Birmingham who are sadly no longer in business but made what have become to be recognised as the finest car keyrings ever produced .

They cannot have made many Land Rover keyrings of this particular design with this ‘ statement ‘ green oval badge – what a superb design which really shouts ‘ LAND ROVER ‘ !

The green oval badge is the badge which we all associate with Land Rover and is correct for almost all Series Land Rovers, 90s & 110 and all Defenders together with Discovery, Freelander and early 2000s Range Rover.

The keyfob in tan leather sets the badge off perfectly for use in a ‘ go anywhere ‘ vehicle designed to be used in the countryside ……….a black leather keyfob could have looked too smart & formal .

In the 1980s Land Rovers were still used as predominantly working vehicles rather than as the luxurious vehicles which they have become nowadays.

Consequently the keyrings were used in working conditions like the vehicles themselves and keyrings like this one were subjected to the same harsh life as the vehicles themselves and have rarely survived .

Original Land Rover keyrings in good condition are now much sought after .

The keyring is in excellent condition with a jewellery quality vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine full grain tan leather gold embossed ‘ TOP GRAIN LEATHER ‘

The nickel plated vitreous enamel badge is in mint condition whilst the leather keyfob shows slight evidence of having been used – but obviously not for long .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive – a really superb item and what a shame that keyrings of this quality which became talismans are no longer produced .
